Six Flags Discovery Kingdom Update - March 1st, 2025
Small Updates & a Beautiful Day!
It's a brand new year here at NorCal Thrills! I can't say that the year has gotten off to the best start in our little corner of theme parks with the CGA rumors but hey, let's try to stay upbeat! This update we're headed back to SFDK for the first time this year to check out what's new! Our last update had a lot more excitement than what you should expect to see today but without further ado, let's get started!

General Updates
It still thrills me to see Medusa looking so good!
Even though the same sign was still there. Not quite open yet but it should be there soon!
Maybe next Kong can get a repaint since it's looking pretty rough lately
Over at Flash, we can't see the trains in the plaza near the ride anymore
And they weren't anywhere in the station or near it either. Not sure what that means, getting refurbed? Or worse?
Good to see Boomerang working properly though!
As far as closed rides go, White Water Safari was understandably closed
With this little sign in front!
The arcade games near the final turnaround on WWS have been cleared. I hope they stay away so this is a ebtter place to watch people get soaked on the ride
So these signs we first spotted in March of last year. This month, they're pushed out. And when I went over to the current dolphin exhibit, the keepers told me that the main stadium is getting ready to reopen for Spring Break this year at the earliest or summer at the latest!
The VIP area in the old Superman queue is no longer used as a VIP area and was instead empty. Guess not enough people paid for it? Or it's only in use on busy days?
I hope that one day, they'll add something to the Pacific Rim Theater. In the meantime, it's a storage for props when it's not a haunt
And finally, Holiday in the Park is just about all cleaned up. The Festival Center is closed
The soup restaurant was unfortunately closed and pulled down as well
Penguin Plunge was closed and drained
And we have our bumper cars back. With Scream Break not returning, I think we have them until Haunt this fall!
But the last piece of HitP that I could find was this signage still up in Seaside Junction!
It was such a beautiful day at the park today! And the animals knew it as well
I loved seeing the cougar curled up for a nap so close to the path
Or the wolf out and pacing around
Unfortunately for whatever reason the path to the back animal exhibits were blocked off so I couldn't see any more animals
But I did get to spend some time with the dolphins who seemed to enjoy playing with their keepers through the glass
And that finishes up our update! Not a ton going on at the moment for SFDK but less exciting is totally good in my eyes! I'm planning on hitting CGA opening day next up!
